Kat Horzempa (she/they)
A versatile artist, Kat is a professional executive with a knack for taking new and small businesses to the next level. Known for her easy adaptability and quick mastery of new systems, Kat specializes in creating easy-to-follow roadmaps for training the next generation.
Kat’s diverse experiences span various sectors, including the arts, fitness, education, manufacturing, and tertiary sectors, providing Kat with a rich skill set that helps them thrive in fast-paced environments. With expertise in finance, operations, and marketing, Kat brings a strategic approach to elevate organizations and drive sustained growth. Kat is deeply committed to the creation of inclusive, anti-racist, and gender-affirming spaces for marginalized communities, reflecting her dedication to fostering positive and empowering environments.
Kat is passionate about using their skills to drive meaningful outcomes with mission-driven organizations. She is currently drawn to collaborating with nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that prioritize community-first values, such as Concerts in Care Ontario and Women in Film & Television - Toronto.
Kat is the Co-Founder of Body Positive Fitness, an anti-diet fitness company dedicated to creating safe spaces for joyful movement. In her role as Co-CEO, Operations, Kat architected, executed and maintained all operational systems: financial, technical, administrative, marketing, and client-related.
Prior to BPF, Kat was an executive and senior manager with two non-profit arts organizations, Cahoots Theatre and Native Earth Performing Arts. Kat strategically guided both companies through periods of rapid growth, building teams, budgets, systems and campaigns that made it possible for each company to rise to meet new growth opportunities. Kat also designed social media strategies for Roseneath Theatre while assisting with grant writing and fundraising targets.
In addition to her professional work, Kat has been a director on the board of directors for a number of arts and arts service organizations in Canada and Spain.
